THE DROP IS GOING TO BE DELAYED… AGAIN… I FOUND AN ISSUE WITH THE UNIVERSALS THAT NEEDS CORRECTED
These are the ultimate scx24 axle. As the most adjustable axle on the market, it offers adjustable caster with the splined axle housing and c hubs up front and a built-in link riser out back. Housings constructed from 7075 aluminum they have no compromises when it comes to strength. Same goes for the axle shafts which are made from gr5 titanium. The fronts are a universal style so steering angle isn’t a problem. They are set for 47* from us but an easily achieve much more than that by reversing the c hubs. If you choose that YOU MUST SET YOUR ENDPOINTS properly to not bind the universals. The holes for the axle pins were slightly moved to stop over tightening of the wheels and causing binding. O rings are supplied to go between the bearing and pin to take up any slop. Front axles come with Low Blow knuckles and 2/12 gearing while the rear has 2/16 gears.
These are a very wide axle designed to work perfectly with our wheels to reduce scrub steer. With our standard hubs the front measures 119mm and the rear measures 114mm. The narrow rear axle will help clearing those gates. A set of our +2 hubs will bring the rears to 118mm. With our wheels and standard hubs, the overall width comes in at less than 5".
Gr5 titanium steering links are provided but you will need to bend them yourself to suit your servo mount style and/or your caster settings. Don’t worry, it’s not hard to bend. A couple pairs of pliers are all that is necessary. Just leave a little space between them to allow enough material for the bends. There are multiple way to set up the links according to your setup. Two lengths of steering links are included for boa or center servo setups. For boa setups recommend stacking both the drag link and tie rod on one pivot ball with an o-ring between them.
